About Us

HISTORY

The Chemical Examiner Laboratory Sindh, located in Karachi, is one of the oldest andmost significant scientific institute in the province, operating under the Health Department of the Government of Sindh. Established in 1950 as the Chemico-Bacteriological Laboratory, it was created to provide analytical and toxicological expertise to medico-legal and law enforcement agencies. Over the decades, it has remained an essential pillar in supporting the justice system through scientific analysis and evidence-based reporting. Despite facing administrative and infrastructural challenges in the past, the laboratory has continued to perform its duties with professionalism and commitment. In 2021, Our honorable Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pacho took initiative to upgrading of CB Lab underwent significant upgradation, introducingmodern facilities and advanced analytical instruments. The laboratory now operates inaccordance with international protocols and standards, ensuring precise, reliable, and highquality forensic results.

Chemical Examiner Laboratory operates under the Health department Government of Sindh with a mandate legally to perform scientific analysis of evidentiary materials in criminal and civil investigations. Our laboratory supports a wide range of forensic testing, combining analytical expertise with modern instrumentation.
